If we get into the topic of web traffic, 90% of the Websites on the Internet get 90% of their traffic from search engines. Obviously, all the webmasters are concerned about their web rankings of Google.
Without any hesitation, Google can be considered as the most used search engine on the web. Google is the homepage for some billions of internet users worldwide. This leads the webmasters to worry about the Google method of positioning the organic search results.
It is well known that PageRank of Google is the ranking algorithm used to rank all the websites in the internet. But is it the only parameter? Definitely not. Google uses a number of different parameters which affect the position of a particular result in the Google organic search results. These parameters may be given equal importance or more importance than the Google's PageRank while positioning the result in the organic search results. This gives a great opportunity for the new Websites to get traffic from the search engines, and Google helps to a greater extent.
As per my knowledge, the following parameters which I discuss on will affect the position of a particular result in the organic search results of Google than any other parameters. I am concluding these based on my experience of googling.

- The position of the keyword
The keyword present in the header is given more preference. Then comes the keyword in URL of the page. Then comes the keyword in the content.
- The format of the keyword
A keyword in bold gets more preference than normal keyword.
- The gap between the two keywords
if there are two keywords in the search phrase, then the gap between the two keywords matters. The nearer the keywords more the preference the page gets.
- The Keyword in capital letters gets more preference than normal keyword.
- The page gets high preference in its 24-48hrs of creation.
- The page's preference increases when a user clicks on the search result.
- A full-stop between two keywords can be given lower preference than keywords in single sentence.
- Related words like synonyms in the page can give additional preference.
